Anachronistic – chronologically misplaced; adjective
The anachronistic steps in the How-To-Build-A-Bomb book caused great confusion when first published.

Circuitous – roundabout, not direct; adjective
I always end up taking a circuitous route home so I can avoid certain people as a walk.
